I blame YOU.

Yes YOU. Over there, with the computer, and stamps, or maybe a sewing machine.

I am a diehard library girl. I pretty much don't buy books unless they have patterns in them ie, craft books. This isn't because I don't love books. I LOVE books. I check out about 20 library books a week. And yes, I read them all. Well unless they suck.

But everyone went on and on about the Twilight books. Oh they are so good, Oh they suck you in, Oh on and on. I'm a HUGE vampire fan. I wondered if these would be too light for me. I like my vampires sexy, dark and dangerous. Stephanie Meyer is Mormon, which is cool, I'm Mormon too. But I don't want Mormon vampires ya know? Vampires are my total dark indulgence.

But you kept going on and on about the stinking books. So I requested them from the library. My library system has like 60 copies of Twilight but it never sent one to me. I don't know what's up with that, maybe I'm on a huge list. Finally I got sick of waiting and bought the first book at Costco. (I *heart* Costco)

Well dang you all! It's really good. I mean not super dark and stuff, but really good. Mom said I will like the next one even more. I can't wait another who knows how long for the stinking library to get it.

So I ordered all three of the ones I don't have just now on Amazon. It was only $29 including shipping for all of them, so that's cool. Two are in hardcover, maybe they are not in paperback yet? I have this thing where I actually prefer paperback. I know it's weird. But whatever.

I guess it's ok, I mean it's been ages sense I purchased a book. Why not buy four all at once and just a week before Christmas?

I don't have any photos. Just me rambling about Twilight, just like I read everyone else doing a few weeks back.

I didn't read them until the 4th book came out. My friend had a huge party for the release, and I hate to miss a party.
I read all four of them within 3-4 weeks. Love them! They aren't Anne Rice vampires...but they're cool.

Tee hee... Our evil plan worked ;) They are good books; not as dark like some other vampire series. The second, third and fourth books are all great. They each get better as you go along. I think this is because the author doesn't have to spend as much time on introducing you to the characters. She is able to pick up where she left off and develop them even further. As you go through the books you get to know more of the secondary characters better. You will love them. You can always donate them to your library after your are finished with them. Always make me feel better about purchasing a book ;)

Though, in the case of these books, you may want to keep them around for reading again and again.

BTW, have you read the Sookie Stackhouse books? Very good vampire genre mystery books. Elvis makes an appearance as a vampire in that story line.

I got sucked in too! I HATE vampires though and get scared easily. My library has over 400 people on the wait list and just laughed when I asked if they had the book. So I bought the first one (me who NEVER buys books; I read too much to afford purchasing books). I haven't started it yet 'cuz I think when I do it's going to over ride everything else going on and I don't have time for that right now.

Ugh. Me too. I'm so embarrassed. Even worse, I've read the first three in three days (yes, one a day, for the last three days), and I'm actually contemplating going to Costco on the Saturday before Christmas JUST to buy myself the 4th book. Have I mentioned that I'm 35 years old?!

I should have guessed the author was Mormom... I was like, "Where's the sex?!"

I feel the same way about library books. And I also had to buy the Twilights b/c there were like 50+ reserves ahead of me at my library. But I bought them all and they're worth it. I'm 1/2 way thru the 3rd one and I think I'll be sad when I'm thru them all. I found your blog thru a post on Johanna's. Congrats on your pubs!

Welcome to the club. I kind of wish I didn't know she was Mormon. I was critical of a few of her choices along the way:) Haven't seen the movie yet. Tommorow I am just gonna suck it up and go by myself. Rhet doesn't want to "waste" a date night on it. (Not that I can disagree when they come every other month or so) When did you get so crafty? I miss someone who reads more than me and doesn't make me feel bad for neglecting house, family, bathing, sleeping, and basic functions over a good (or half-way decent) book! Miss ya!

My best friend just gave me her copy of the first and I am afraid to open it because once I start reading I become obsessed and that is all I want to do. I am not ready for that type of commitment right now!
