Ton of cards.

I know I haven't posted for a while. Lemme make up for it:
I love this bird. He's from Hambo Stamps. I had a great time coloring him, then didn't know what to put with him. I decided he had a tropical look to him and might have been hanging aroudn with pirates enough to pick up the lingo. The "Ahoy Matey" is from the SU set by the same name. I cuttlebugged the black. Oh can you tell there is ribbon on the little tag. I spend a while getting that ribbon tied just right only to remember it goes on a black background anyhow! Opps! He's colored with prismacolor markers.
This is a simple Papertrey ladybug card. I am so glad I got these papertrey stamps. The bug is stamped in my favorite color Cool Caribbean. If you love it too you should call your SU rep because it's being retired. :(
Showing off my new punches here. Do you like the inside circle doodle? I think I like that look. The stamp is a Fluffles of course, I colored with watercolor pencil. The background stamping is from my newest stamps Hero Arts clear border stamps. CUTE.
I guess you know what this is, papertrey ladybugs in cool caribbean.
Another fluffles. This one is really simple. It's colored with watercolor pencils again. :)
I have this new wheel from SU that is "Farmyard Jumbo Wheel" it's also being retired so if you love this and the next card you'll want to call your SU demo. I rolled out a section of it then punched circles that I liked and colored them.
Same as above but with ribbon instead of a phrase. :)
Avast Yeee! I love pirates. This is a "smelly pirate" As is the next one. I stamped them on the colored paper then took a paintbrush in bleach and washed out the inside areas so I could color them with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. It was smelly and gross and I'll never do it again. Butthey turned out sorta cute. The crackle stamp is TAC.
On this one to get all the scallop I layered multiple punchies of the mega scallop square punch. It took 6 of them to do the main image and another three to do the bottom strip. Oh and I did not realize until I was posting them that this is the same layout as the one above it just turned on it's side. Time to dig out the sketches again I guess!
This is just a really simple quick card. I'm making a stack to use for Visiting Teaching. (church thing)
And those are my newest cards. Thanks for hanging in there. :)

Busy lately

I've been making cards a bunch again! Hurray. I'll get right to them.

This is another simple ladybug card using the Papertrey Ink Little Lady set. I'm loveing these quick one layer cards.
Yesterday my Ahoy, Matey set came! I love it. I love it, I love it! I plan to use it bunches. My wheel was left out for some reason but my awesome SU demo is right on it and one is on it's way to me now. I colored this with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The main image is stamped on the paper I got from Papertrey Ink and it takes pencil very well.
This stamp came yesterday too, it's one of the jumbo wheels. It's the "Farmyard" one and it will be retired this year! Stinkers! Anyhow I colored with prismacolor markers, which worked great on the Papertrey paper. You can't see but there is a little sentiment stamp of "Be silly" in the bottom right corner. Do you like how it opens up? I liked that.
More Papertrey bugs. I used popdots on this one.
Blue bugs! They are actually Cool Caribbean bugs. LOVE that color.

That made me wonder what other colors might look good so I played a bit:

That's all for now! Huggeronies.

Bugs, they are everywhere!

New stamps of course! Not real bugs.

I just hours ago got my Papertrey order. I am in love with this bug! Also the paper is FANTASTIC. It's really thick and feels nice. It's smooth, but not as smooth as the Whisper White that Stampin' Up! sells. In a way that's nice, this dries faster, that WW paper seems to smear for me no matter what. Also it's REALLY THICK, you can make a card with no layers and it feel rich and classy, not thin and cheap. I love cards with no layers so I needed this. It was $6 for 40 sheets so that's a great price. I also got the envelopes and the clear boxes. The envelopes are pretty standard, not the cheapest quality, but not some magical extra special quality either. They are not a bad buy at $6 for 40 though. I got the Paper Tray set too, it is cute I haven't used it yet.
Here's my card: It's a CASE of This Card by Belinda.

I also got my All That Scraps order. (Saturday) I think I already told you about that so I'll get to the card:

I used a waterbrush and marker ink to color it.

Stephen also stamped this bug and colored it but he's sleeping with his "card" so I'll have to show you some other time. He's very proud. (He's 2 you have to start them young) When he stamped and pulled up the stamp he said, "WOW CUTE!" and my heart grew ten sizes.

It's Hambo Time!

Last night really late as I was trying to get my fussy kids to fall alseep all the sudden I wanted to make cards. So I did!

This image is from Hambo Stammps. Isn't it just adorable? It's called Mother Goose. I usually use bolder colors than this but I was in the mood for softer colors last night. (Probably because it was one in the morning!)
I made this one because I tried to use the ribbon on the last card and it was the wrong green. But I still felt it was great so I made a whole new card around that ribbon.
I just love this silly stamp, it's Hambo too. I think for a boy's birthday right? I just get a smile when I look at him. Hambo stamps are great for that. They make me smile. :) The "Happy Birthday" is stampendous and the crackle background is TAC.

I used marker to watercolor them all. I scribbled a bit of each color on a plastic sheet then used a water brush to pick up the color and color the image. This is one of my favorite coloring techniques but with the fun newness (new to ME) of prismacolor markers and gamsol with prismacolor pencil I haven't done this in a while. It's nice to use again. Much softer color.

My bitzy bugs from All That Scraps came today! They shipped really fast and it was free shipping! (on orders of just $10 and over, US only) So I loved that! And I got some email that I had earned a credit of like 42cents for who knows what. I really don'n know what I did to earn a credit but Hurray! heehee. I just noticed they sell Gina K too! I love Gina K and don't have any! I really went just for the bugs. They are CUTE bugs. I now have; the baseball one, the muddy one, the one with the umbrella (Thanks Michelle), and the "cutie patootie" one. I also got the stamp of just rain. You never know when you will need it to rain on your stamped world.

Speaking of baseball I'm going to a game tonight so I'll see yall folks later.

huggeronies.

Just keep swimming

You know that movie Finding Nemo? Well first of all, it's terribly sad, I think most Disney movies are. But anyhow I feel like that Ellen fish who says, "Just keep swimming" Only I need to "Just keep stamping." So I did: These frist ones were inspired by this on SCS: Letterpress card set. I LOVE this set but mine is a little short. I think I know why though, their image is so much bolder even though it's a line image and they used it more AND they have more of their dark color. I'm not sure if I had used those elements but still used brown if I would have been ok. Anyhow these are just ok for me. I'll use them but they don't make me super happy.

This card however I'm totally happy with! I used this week's sketch over at Split Coast Stampers (link to the sketch). I love sketch challanges. This is also the first card I've used fabric on. The red checked stuff is fabric, can you tell? The little boy is a TAC stamp that I love and I colored him with prismacolor markers and also copic markers. (Which are similar) The "thank you" is from my Green Grass set that I told you about. It's perfect. I LOVE that set.

Hopefully I'm over the hump, we shall see!

ETA You CAN still get this boy stamp. His name is Kevin and he's R64 for $5.95. Of course you all know how TAC works, you have a min shipping charge (I think it's 4.20) and also tax. I would not count on him being in the new catalog. He's not in the current one, but didn't get retired either. It's very confusing I know. Anyhow if you must have him contact your TAC demo and I'm sure they will get you squared away.

Attn: Missing muse, keep your eyes peeled.

:(

It's true. My muse or whatever you call it is gone. It's been a few weeks, I've been trying to hide it. I made a few sorta cute cards, but it wasn't the same. Usually I just love making cards and I can make piles and piles until the babies need something. I usually dream up cards when I sleep then make them and more come from those ideas and so on. Usually each day I look at blogs and online galleries I get inspired to try new things, to retackle old things, to put an accent just so... Lately.. NOTHING.

It's sad. I decided to sort stuff instead and listed a bunch of stamp sets on The Stamp Shack for sale. That made me feel good but so far hasn't made me want to stamp. I bought new stuff too, it's on it's way, we shall see! (I did buy Ahoy, Matey! surely that will do the trick) I have TONS of birthday presents to play with but nothing comes to me.

So please keep checking back even though I've been a little flat lately. It will come back I'm sure. Maybe I should knit something for a while. I have this blanket I started when Stephen, who is now 2 was not even born yet... Nahh. I'll just wait for the stamping muse to come back.

BTW I can't decide if I like the word "muse" or not. heehee Part of me thinks it sounds silly, part thinks it sounds just right. Maybe I should say my stamping mojo?

Aloha! :)

This card is pretty simple. It's fun to make simple cards. I actually made 6 of them, stamped the "aloha" on the envelope flaps too, tied it all up with that ribbon and passed it off as a small gift. The recipient loved it. She lived in Hawaii for 8 years and signs all her emails "aloha" so I thought it was the best use of the stamp. She tells me that gold and crimson are the "royal colors of Hawaii" and did I know that when I deisgned the card. I did not, for shame! But the point is she liked it right!
It's patern paper. A few people have asked if I stamped the background and I sure wish I did but I didn't and am not really sure how to do one like this and don't have these stamps so I just forked over the 60 cent! The stamp is by Green Grass and here's a link. It has some of the coolest sentiment stamps I've ever seen BUT it's discontinued. You can still get it in "seconds" form (that's what is on the link) and it costs less and I recomend you just buy it! I'm going to be using it a LOT. :) I can barely see these "errors" on the two flowers and anyhow I just told you the reason to buy it is for the phrases anyhow. It's wicked tricky to cut out because they jammed so much on there, but you can do it.
Now the coolest part... I didn't buy mine! My good friend Angie did! Yup! Yet another awesome birthday present. I am not sure how I got so lucky. One of the most adorable things about Angie is that whenever she refers to her mom she says, "My cute mom blah blah blah" it's adorable! Actually I think she told me her cute mom has a blog now, I'll have to check into that.
I went to a crop Saturday. Normally I have tons to show you when I go to a crop but I didn't make anything! AND it was the most fun crop ever. I met up with Cinda and she made like a million of these adorable cards in the first hour while I cut letters for a bulliten board at church. Then we just chattered. I cut my new stamps (yes the ones I've been talking about) and she looked at this Close To My Heart card program book thing. (You know that one they sell that you buy in sections.) We both have boys who are about 2 and we talked about schools. The schools here are not great, and we were talking about private schools and homescholing and what not. The other girls at the crop had great info and were telling us. It was all very friendly and chattery and fun. Oh I learned that Cinda has rubber she's never cut! She even has the Ahoy, Matey! set. And never cut it! I tried to make her sell it to me as she's not giving it all the love it needs but no luck. heehee. So I ordered my own when I got home! I mailed my demo my check today.
Ok, I think I've talked your ear off! Hmmm, my baby who has never done this, just stood up and used a chair to walk across the dining room! Look at him go! I guess I have two toddlers now not a toddler and a baby.

Wide open in Paradise

I got a pizza box delivered today. Was there pizza inside? NOPE! There was a fat pack of pink and orange bazzill paper and the most adorable Bitzy Bug stamp! I almost ordered some of these last night. I still will of course but not this one because I already have it! Hurray!!!
This is for the Limited Supply Challange LSC115 on Split Coast Stampers. I love this challange. If you are a SCS member you really should go look at all the cards with this one. The challange is to have "Wide Open Spaces" and believe me the artists over there did it proud! I always love the creative use of white space and these cards do it! Wow, just wow. Go look! I'd put links but if you are not a SCS member you can't see them and if you are you need to see them all.

Ok on my bug card I used the bug and the "Thanks" is by Missy B. I colored with prismacolor markers then went over almost all of it with Ranger's Glossy Accents. A little piercing and I was done. I'm happy with it.
Oh and please tell me a whole bunch of sentiments that go with this stamp. I needed a thank you card and I think it's cute but what else?

This stamped image was in my birthday card from Pam. Isn't it cute? I'll need to find out who makes this stamp, it's entirely possible I need to own it. Thepattern paper is TAC and I felt it went well although it may be a little too busy. Overall I'm still happy with the card though. I'm loving the trick where you cut the image but have part trimmed closely. I'm not sure I'm doing it right though I need to go look at more examples of how people are doing it. I colored this one with prismacolor and copic markers.

Tomorrow I get up at the crack of dawn to go down to the Orlando Temple with the rest of the RS Presidency, then in the evening I'm croppign with Cinda. I can't wait. I mean it will all be nice, but the cropping with a friend will be super fun. :)

Finally new cards!

I was out of town all weekend and it took me a few days to get new cards made but here they are! (to read about my trip see my Family Blog)

My friend Sarah in Australia sent me this image, isn't it adorable? I colored it with prismacolor and copic markers. I love how it turned out. Do you like the piercing on the orange? I'm really digging all this piercing I've been seeing. Oh and see his board has a "K" on it, clearly he's a Kellogg!
These stamps were birthday gifts. The swirls are from Ethel and the lady and cat are from Tonii. I don't drink coffee or tea (being LDS) so I assume they are having a nice pot of hot cocco. I felt the scalloped piece made it look a bit like a French Cafe. I call it "French Cat-fay. They are colored with primacolor and copic markers. Oh the scalloped border on the top I did with two different size of corner rounders. Then I used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes. (Tonii also sent me a crop-a-dile!)
This one I'm not sure about. I LOVE this stamp. It's by Hambo Stamps and they are one of my new favorites. I feel I didn't live up to the cuteness of the image though. I'm not sure what went wrong but it's not making me happy. And the danged eyelet piece won't stay stuck on because all the eyelets. It's colored with markers and pencils.

It was my birthday today (it's just after midnight so I was my birthday yesterday I guess?) I got TONS of cards! Seriously it was tons and tons.

I'm gonna share my favorites though. Brian made them, one from him, one from our babies! Are you ready for the cuteness?

(Kitty is our cat who leaves me dead birds)
"Cats are like potato chips, you can't have just one" We started with one and have THREE somehow.

"So are babies (these look like our babies) But you can't make them sleep in the backyard. We love you Mommy!!! Happy Birthday!!" I kicked our cats out a while back and they live in the backyard. (they all peed on everything, we tried everything)

How cute are those? Brian loves to make little scenes and stuff like this. I love these cards.

Swirly stuff

I haven't felt like stamping the past few days! I know it's totally shocking. I'm just super stressed and feel all yucky. I did make myself get stamping though, it did help.
This fishy card took forever! It's for this week's sketch challange over at Splitcoast Stampers. I had to make 6 masks of the fish to get them to overlap right. there are 35 of them. :) Then I colored them all and stamped swirls for the background piece. I'm sure it makes some statement about standing out, or maybe even teaching? I just think it's fun.
This one features the swirly stamps Ethel got me. Don't you love them? How can you NOT love them? And this was super fast, I think it took like ten minutes start to finish.
